I really love what you've been doing with your digital photography, James; I was thinking of it specifically when I posted that Bon Iver song today, in fact! I sense an unexpected combination of desolation and warmth in both, and I had a strong feeling you would enjoy that song. In fact, if you didn't see it yourself, I was planning to send it to you. :)
I'm so glad to hear about your recent renewal in both your photography and your running, too! You continue to impress me with your mental toughness in dealing with the harsh Illinois winter. But if you ever want to come enjoy some 50 degree winter runs, you're welcome to join me out here!
I'm glad you liked my poem, too. :) It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, though - the colors *are* very beautiful out here, but in a somewhat cliched way... it's a difficult idea to express clearly!
Melinda, I am hoping to run a long trail race sometime this summer. If I find a good one near San Fran. I could meet up with you and we could go for a run together.
I remember our 12 miler through the streets of Champaign last winter, I can still feel the windy sting of that day :)
